Hey Trolls!
Not much to update this month Backers. We are in the long wait part of this Kickstarter. At the moment our manufacturer has the files and is creating the sample of Fall of the Mountain King for approval. It can take up to 45 days to make the mould for the insert. Once it is ready, the manufacturer will make the sample and everything will be sent out to us. We imagine that we will get the sample in late December, or early January. Right after we approve it the game, we will not waste time; we'll begin production immediately.
Timelines
January 15 - Credit cards for shipping and add-ons in BackerKit will be charged.
December-March - Manufacturing will take place.
Most of February - China will be celebrating the Lunar New Year, and the country will be on holidays.
March - Games should leave the Chinese port and head to their various regions of the world.
April/May - Fulfilment should commence.

The Long Wait

Hello Trolls!
Not much info today, as we are still sitting in that long period of waiting for something to happen. Since I last updated you, we continue to work on translations. But while that is happening, we've also submitted the English files so that we can get our production sample. Once we get the sample, we'll be ready to hit the go button. We are hoping that production will begin by the end of November. This likely means that our games will hit the water after the Lunar New Year.
Timelines
Late October - Print packages have been delivered to the manufacturer - the sample process begins.
January 15 - Credit cards for shipping and add-ons in BackerKit will be charged.
End of January - Manufacturing hoped to be completed.
Most of February - China will be celebrating the Lunar New Year, and the country will be on holidays.
March - Games should leave the Chinese port and head to their various regions of the world.
April/May - Fulfilment should commence.

Where We Are At

Hello Trolls,
There is not much news to report other than the wild events going on around the world. I am sure that many of you know that freight from China is a disaster right now. Thankfully, I think we'll be delivering the game on the tail end of it, and could actually see the games in your hands on time. That is what we hope for, at least.
At the moment we are working on translation packages. Once these are complete, we'll be sending the files into our manufacturer. Thankfully our timelines have not changed much since our update 1 month ago. Here is a refresher...
Timelines
September - Translations begin for different language versions.
Early October - Print packages will be delivered to manufacturer and manufacturing will begin, including the sample process.

Completing Development and Further Timelines

Hello Trolls,
Things are going swimmingly around here. This week we will put our finishing touches on the development of the game. We'll have all art completed soon as well. This is exciting because it means we'll have a complete package to send in to our manufacturer in no time. We are at a very good pace right now.
Timelines
I wanted to update you on the timelines. As backer MODJay pointed out in the comments section, I have been known to extend the lock orders date. So, here is the new timeline, including a firm August 24th BackerKit orders locked date. This dates includes surveys for retailer backers.
August 24 - BackerKit orders will be locked down (you won't be able to change your order unless you contact us).

BackerKit Surveys

Hey Trolls,
I wanted to send an update to you about the BackerKit surveys. They have been complete for the last two weeks, but every time I think they are ready, BackerKit flags something small. The final piece I am working on is a sku for each language. Once that is complete, I will begin to send out the surveys.
Process
I believe that I can get the surveys completed today. This will mean that I will probably also begin to send out your surveys today. If not today, it will be tomorrow. At first the Smoke Test will go out to 5% of backers. Once most of these backers complete their surveys and if there are no issues to fix, the rest of the surveys will be sent out. From my experience, this usually takes about 12 hours.
A Couple of Things to Note
You will already have the game(s) you ordered in your BackerKit basket. You do not have to add another game. The only thing you will have to do is choose your language. If you chose add-ons during the campaign, those will also be in your basket. You do not have to add these but you will have to choose the language, if it is relevant to your add-on.
A reminder that you did not yet pay for shipping or VAT during the campaign. This is the time when you will provide a credit card number to pay for these things. Just a bit of background on this ... we used to charge shipping during KS campaigns. That meant that we also paid KS fees on your shipping. Doing it this way saves a lot of money for everyone.

The State of Fulfilment
Many of you know that the world has entered a shipping/freight crisis. Not only have costs risen by 5-8X what they were only 6 months ago, but getting cargo into containers and onto ships is now proving to be difficult. There are many reasons for this. In fact, too many to list and explain here. But if you are interested you can see some articles here and a great video interview here. Thankfully this game doesn't ship for quite some time, so we expect that everything will get back to [a new] normal by then.
