Hey Trolls!
Happy 1 week anniversary! We're still reeling from this campaign over here at Fall of the Mountain King headquarters. Again, we wanted to thank you so much for helping to make this dream a reality for all of us. Not only did you help by backing the game, but so many of you participated in our comment section consistently. What a beautiful community we've cultivated here! We can't thank you enough.
Kickstarter to Complete Charging Cards
Over the next week, Kickstarter will complete charging credit cards. Most of them have been charged already. For those of you who have been having a difficult time with this, it is important for you to contact your bank and let them know that Kickstarter and KTBG Inc. (our trade name) wants to charge your card for a game. This is the only way for your charges to clear. It might happen that some of you never get a charged card. Do not fear, we will still send your survey out and you can pick up the charge there. If you have any questions about this process, please DM us.
The BackerKit Pledge Manager Survey
Trolls, in about 2 weeks (give or take a day or two) you will receive an email with your personal link to the BackerKit survey. This survey helps us to understand what to send to you and where to send it. We need you to fill in this survey to the best of your ability (if you know you're going to be moving, please give us your address right now. You'll be able to change it up until a few weeks before fulfilment in May of 2022). BackerKit will also be collecting your credit card information so that you can pay for fulfilment. When we are close to sending out the surveys, I will be sure to send you a more detailed update, giving you information about your choices, such as language, and add-ons.
Retail Store Backers
You will also be receiving a survey, but not from BackerKit. I will be using your Kickstarter email addresses to send out a Google Form so that I can get your address and order. This survey will come about 4-5 days after the BackerKit surveys go out. You will not be required to pay your full invoice until a few weeks before the games deliver. More info on that coming as well. But keep a lookout for an email coming from our Burnt Island Games account.
Important Dates
July - completing game development, rules, and art
On or around July 15 - BackerKit surveys go out
On or around July 19 - Retailer surveys go out
August - begin translations
August 15 - BackerKit orders will be locked down (you won't be able to change your order unless you contact us)
September - complete print packages for manufacturer and begin manufacturing
January 2022 - manufacturing should be complete
January 15 - Credit cards for shipping and add-ons in BackerKit will be charged
February/March - games should leave the Chinese port and head to their various regions of the world
April/May - fulfilment should commence
The Waiting is the Hardest Part
Backers, we know that between know and May seems like a long time away. And it definitely is. We promise to continue to update you at least once a month going forward. And we will do this even to say that there is nothing new to report. We invite you to continue the conversation over the coming months. Hey Trolls!
What a wild ride the last few days have been. With 4028 backers you have gone above and beyond helping us strive to heights we never thought imaginable. Before I get too far into this, I want to welcome everyone who joined us in the last 24 hours. We're so glad you are here with us, and have helped us unlock so many end-of-campaign Stretch Goals. If you've been here for a while, we very much appreciate your support. And for those of you who have participated in any way in the comments section of the campaign... well you made it so much fun for us (and for our other backers). Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
What We've Unlocked
It is really unbelievable what the last 24 hours have brought to this campaign. Look at all of these Stretch Goals that we've unlocked.
Now the Team Thank-Yous
First and foremost, a huge thank you to our Fall of the Mountain King designer Adam Daulton. It might not be well known to our backers, but we originally signed a different game from Adam about a year before we signed Fall of the Mountain King (which itself was previously known as Heptarchy). Adam, on a whim, asked us if we wanted to play-test Heptarchy. It became very clear to us that it was a perfect fit for the Mountain King world. Thank you Adam for trusting us with your game, and allowing us to change the theme to work with this incredible storyline.
Our artistic team brought this game together in an incredible way. Xavier Cuenca, box cover artist; Fahed Alrajil, our incredible Troll, Gnome, and board artist who created so many amazing pieces of art for the game; Stephen Sauer, symbol artist; Jon Mietling our videographer; Mesa Games Lab on animated GIF duty, and Game Trayz behind the custom inserts... you all created a world that has inspired an incredible story.
Next, the amazing development team: Adam, Josh Cappel, Sean Jacquemain, and Graeme Jahns & Jay Cormier (designers of In the Hall of the Mountain King) worked to pull together the loose ends of the game. And did it ever come together nicely!! We are absolutely thrilled with the results. Thanks so much team!
A very special thank you to our resident Community Manager, marketer, photographer, and very good friend Sean! Without you, none of this could happen.
And finally, the backbone of it all! Josh Cappel, the Creative Director, Art Director, and graphic designer for Burnt Island Games, did everything. Josh is beyond talented. I am so lucky to share this company with him (and life - he is also my life partner).

Sorry backers. For this you'll have to wait until tomorrow while Josh works on an amazing graphic for it. He was a teeny bit busy with updates to the campaign page today.
What's Next For All of Us?
First things first, we are taking the weekend off. We need it. The 27 days of a campaign wear us down, big time. And you probably don't know this, but most of this team have other full-time jobs. So, it will be nice to have only 1 job for a day. But when we're done taking a few days to ourselves we'll begin putting the finishing touches on our BackerKit pledge manager. You can expect to receive it within the next few weeks. But we'll tell you more about this in a more detailed update soon. We'll also be working on balancing the game and finalizing our production files.
While we expect to deliver this game to you in May of 2022, we promise to keep you in the know every step of the way. We are dedicated to sending you monthly updates.

Hey Trolls,
This is it! The final countdown!! Just 24 hours, and this campaign will be toast. We have so much to say in this update, which will be our last today. As always, I would like to welcome all of our new backers. These last 24 hours have been so amazing. We are so happy to have had you jump on at the last minute. And to those of you who are not new, and have been here since the beginning, or at least before our last update, we are so very grateful to you. Thank you for helping us run an incredible campaign that we are incredibly proud of. Your comments on the main page and your enthusiasm for Fall of the Mountain King is so amazing to see. Now, let's see where we are at.

We have noticed a very strong correlation between the days that Fall of the Mountain King is on Kicktraq's Hotlist, and acquiring more backers. More backers means more Stretch Goals. Kicktraq is a very big part of how people find games to support. It is a platform to find out funding stats for Kickstarter campaigns. If Fall of the Mountain King is on the Kicktraq HOTLIST, many, many, many more people will see the game. This will get us more backers, which in turn, will get us to more Stretch Goals. If you want to move Fall of the Mountain King back onto this list, check it out on Kicktraq, click on Visit Project, and come back to comment on the main page. What a couple of days it has been. Your eagerness to comment and participate on this campaign has been so amazing for us to watch. Thank you all for taking the time to comment and suggest Outsiders.
